A Message From Master Harvey

Dear all,

Since the letter has finally garnered some much needed attention to the current state of MCO, let us now discuss and share our views on this site, rather than on Mr. Peter Khiew's blog site.

Pertaining to the issue of the letter that Guo Zheng wrote, I know many of the ex-seniors are very unsatisfied and unhappy over it. Why, I do not know. Let me organized the events in order.

  • Guo Zheng sent a mail to Mr. Peter Khiew to appeal for help and assistance from different parties, such as the school's board of governers, PIBG, teachers and so forth.
  • Mr. Peter Khiew thought it was a good idea to post the letter on his blog so that the issue can be brought to light, since his blog has a large following
  • Mr. Peter Khiew then proceeded to ask our opinion (Soo Kok Keat, President 2008/2009 and I) about the idea, in which we agreed to.
  • Thus, on August 23rd, the letter was published on peterkhiew.blogspot.com
  • After a few posts and countless comments, all discussions concerning the orchestra was closed

It was meant as an APPEAL for HELP and ASSISTANCE. Thus, stating problems that the orchestra is facing is unavoidable. The letter was never intended to hurt anyone's feelings and I personally could not see anything that could cause some people to be disheartened.

So now that we have finally gained your attention, shall we stop this pointless squabbling and work together for the better of the orchestra?

An Evening with Dragon's Melody

March 24th 2007, my form 2 was the most memorable time I had in MCO, feels like a long time ago when we had the concert, the experience all of us had was amazing, I still remember the practice sessions which started almost immediately after the 2006 handover when the exco board (The president of the time was Mas. Lee Kitt Leong, a brilliant leader) gave us the first song for the concert. We were so spirited in practicing so many months before the concert, I had a great time during practice as one the 4 cellists for the orchestra. I had so much fun even though the road was full of stress, frustrations and scoldings but above all I had a wonderful experience which I treasured during these practice sessions.

Then came the night for the concert, we got Master Timothy Chee, director of this year's drama too draw a dragon for us with the opening song, it was awesome. Then came our performances which we collaborated with a lot of clubs and societies, like Wushu, Chinese Language Society, and many more.

Apologies if my posts seem dull,I'm not much of a creative writer but just wanted to share my experiences during the Concert 2 years ago, that gave me so much nice memories.

P.S. Please wait a while for Photos, have to dig through a few sources.
Signing Off,
The Secretary.
